Carvalho Assumes Managing Director for One of the Most Productive Teams Within Burns & Wilcox
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. (OCTOBER 17, 2024) — Burns & Wilcox, a globally recognized leader in wholesale insurance brokerage and underwriting, today announced Tom Carvalho as the new Managing Director of the company’s San Francisco, Seattle and Portland offices. Carvalho, who has been with Burns & Wilcox since 2011, will continue reporting into Rich Gobler, Burns & Wilcox Senior Vice President for the Western U.S.
San Francisco remains one of the largest and fastest growing offices across Burns & Wilcox, with YTD growth nearing 40%. Burns & Wilcox is growing at 20% YTD nationwide.

Carvalho joined Burns & Wilcox as an associate underwriter before establishing his expertise within Personal Lines. He has repeatedly been recognized for strong results with multiple production awards, including receiving the Burns & Wilcox Personal Insurance Underwriter of the Year honor in 2020.
In addition to his leadership, Carvalho has mentored associates across the company. Professional development will remain a priority as part of his expanded responsibilities.

Carvalho is a graduate of San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.
