Our Leadership

Bonnie Steen serves as a Regional Vice President with responsibility for Burns & Wilcox operations across Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama.

An insurance industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience, Bonnie first joined Burns & Wilcox in 2007 as an Underwriting Manager before quickly moving into successive leadership roles. She became Associate Managing Director in the company’s New Orleans office in 2014 before taking over full leadership as Managing Director in 2021.

Under Bonnie’s leadership the New Orleans office has been among the most productive across Burns & Wilcox over the last decade.

Bonnie was repeatedly recognized as a Burns & Wilcox top producer, while also working with the company’s domestic carriers and London partners to develop innovative products and solutions. She is routinely recognized for mentoring young associates and fostering their career development. Bonnie has also been instrumental in identifying acquisition targets and recruiting strong talent.

Prior to Burns & Wilcox, Bonnie held various roles at a number of highly respected admitted companies. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans.

Bonnie is a past President of the Louisiana Surplus Lines Association and serves as the current Chairperson for the Louisiana Surplus Lines Association PAC. She is also a member of the Louisiana Surplus Lines Association Legislative Committee. Bonnie holds CPCU, CIC and AINS professional designations.
